The first international eye-patch tournament
16/12/2011
After long planning three teams came together for the first international (read Dutch/Belgian) EYE-PATCH TOURNAMENT! This to promote our upcoming Pirate Tournament and just for the fun of it!
Eye-patch hockey is played with a… YES INDEED AN EYE-PATCH!
Team are made, and after every goal the scoring team captain points a player from the opposite team to remove his/her eye-patch. The last team with eye-patches wins. This brings an extra tactical difficulty in uwh, and makes for some nice and balanced games.
The two international teams are:
Team Somalia with:
Yoeri the one-eyed Dolphin
Blackbeard Bram
Raymond, the Yelling Dutchman
Cannon-meat Dirk
Wooden-sword Staf
Rubber-boat Sylvio
The Swedish Sailor Fré
The Dutch Britt
Drunk-talking Nick
Team Indonesia:
Frusto Andy
Planking Kristof
Dead-man Niels
Toilet-cleaner Sander
The Sinking-ship Piep
Massimo, the Lazy Italian Shipmate
Mieke the fair lady
Cannonball-Niels
Black-head Tine
These teams fought head-on with ups and downs. Team Indonesia took a fast start and had a few early goals against the Somalians. But ones the idea of rum, gold and fair lady’s kicked in the Somalians took of and showed the Indonesians their sword-handling skills. But in an exciting final battle (1 vs 1 eye-patches left) the Indonesians used their entering idea’s to score a final quick goal.
Resulting in a victorious Indonesia and a mourning Somalia.
Next time rematch in Genk?
We are also going to try out the only-hooks game (backhand) next Wednesday, so be ready for more cool stuff 😉
