Dutch hockey and more

Barramoenda

At this point I'm working/living in The Hague for the summer. A bit stupid as I'm missing all the fun training in Bilzen. But I decided to google a bit and search some training here. I contacted Michiel de Vroom. He is a friend of our hockey colleagues Stefanie Neerinck and Phillip Ekkels and plays for many years. µ

He took me under his wings an guided me to Baracuda in Scheveningen. A nice team with people of all ages, a pool 3m60 so good practice for me as I usually play at 2m. The other difficulty is that they make just 2 teams with everybody who's there. So last week a game 11 against 8!

Michiel also took me to Baramoenda, a club known in Belgium for high level hockey. 4 teams for 1,5 hour, 2m10, fast bottom and experienced, skillfull and fast players! GOOD TRAINING! I loved it! It made me realise I need A LOT of training ;) Good thing they're willing to teach me things and Bart Post(coach) invited me to join them every week in August!

So it made me think: why don't we play more often in this country so close to ours? with this in my head I give you www.onderwaterhockey.nl with all the teams an tournaments in Holland! They already liked our website on theirs and also on facebook and twitter so thanks for that!

Also visit NOB onderwaterhockeycommissie, facebook page. They posted some pictures o our Youth team last season when they won a medal at the Dutch Youth Competition!

And to spill more in this post-I-want-to-tell-everything-that's-in-my-head, here a website of an Australian Newspaper whith pictures of a training where Niels and me were there!
